Ordinary
Story
I am but an ordinary girl, from an ordinary family and with an ordinary college life. I really thought that it would be impossible for me to go abroad this early because I lack the capability and ability to do so. Little did I know, I will be given the once-in-an-lifetime opportunity of being one of the participants in the SEA-Teacher Project - Pilot Batch 4 this 2025.

My experience as a pre-service student teacher exchange at Khon Kaen University was like a rollercoaster ride. It was a mixture of challenges, enjoyment, and realizations. Although I had experienced a lot of hiccups along the way, I can still confidently say that everything was worthwhile and I learned a lot.

The very takeaway that I think I got from this program was definitely how to be comfortable doing things on my own. I was always the meek friend who cannot even buy at the store by herself. But upon going to Thailand, I was able to get out of my comfort zone and started shaping myself into someone who can easily blend in with people. Because of this program, I was able to unlock a new experience, as well as a new skill. I also had a lot of friends, both teachers and student interns, which I can say is definitely a gain. I had a lot of happy memories with them in the office. I miss everyone.

Therefore, I am beyond thankful to Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), Central Luzon State University (CLSU), CLSU International Affairs Office (IAO), CLSU College of Education (CED), and Khon Kaen University (KKU) for making me a part of this amazing program. I am truly honored to be given this wonderful opportunity not only to broaden my horizons about teaching in a different country and experience a different culture, but also to help me shape the best version of myself by being my catalyst for change. I genuinely felt that I improved a lot. Thank you very much for believing in me!
Comments for Improvement
There really is no such thing as perfect and everyone always has a room for improvement. There were some changes in the given schedule of activities in our program, which caused some miscommunication. This can be improved by being transparent with the plans and by preparing back-up plans to avoid any unnecessary inconvenience. It will also be better if the next participants can have their own assigned companies, who can help them navigate the place, especially during weekends. Having someone who knows the place where you are the foreigner will definitely make your stay better. Aside from those, I didn't have much problem. My stay at Khon Kaen, Thailand was, overall, an incredible experience!
The SEA-Teacher Project never fails to give the participants the culture and teaching exchange it promises. Just like the other participants, I do hope that in the future, the duration of the program will be extended. I believe that the longer the time given, the better performance the participants can give as a return for the given opportunity. After all, teachers can teach the best when they get to know their students well. One month is not enough to both enjoy the experience and give back to this amazing program!.

Nevertheless, heartfelt thanks to SEAMEO for making this exchange possible. Through this program, this ordinary girl can now dream bigger. ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡
