Demonstration School of KKU
Secondary Level (Mo Din Daeng)

During my stay at Khon Kaen University, I was assigned to have my teaching observation and practice teaching at the Demonstration School of KKU, Secondary Level (Mo Din Daeng). It was a secondary school just across the primary school.

The school was an inclusive one as they promote inclusivity among the learners. They give equal opportunities and fair treatment to all.

The warm welcome here is incomparable as they even formally introduced us in front of the students after their flag ceremony, which was documented on their

Facebook page!

Academic Support System

The school strongly promotes the utilization of technology within classrooms. They recognize the fact that the students can learn well if they use the things that they are familiar with. Hence, the classrooms and the teachers are well-equipped to cater this need.

Each classroom has its own speaker, television, and computer. Both the teachers and the students do not need to bring their own laptops and projectors when presenting. It also has fans, locker, whiteboard, chairs, and tables for the students and their subject teacher.

As for the students activities, the school provides them with a wide range of both academic and extra-curricular activities. There are facilities dedicated for the students to do different things. I was lucky to be invited to visit their SMD KKU Health & Innovation Exhibition 2025. This is one of the activities they hold to feature the students' research innovations and ideas for the community. Upon witnessing their presentation, I can say that the school serves as the place where the students can showcase their talents freely.

Teaching System

The day is divided into eight teaching periods with each period lasting for fifty minutes. The teachers prepare their lesson plan ahead of time, which can be used for numerous periods depending on the students' progress. The only unwritten rule here is to give only one activity per meeting. According to the teachers I asked, it's because the students will not be able to handle it. After all, only a few of them are fluent in English.

Based on my mentor's class schedule below, she only meets each class (Matthayom 4/1-4/5) twice a week.
